  KOOS TRUTER  

Koos is a Chemical Engineer with over 35 years of experience in technical management and advisory roles across various industries, including steel, chemicals, power generation, mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, port operations, telecommunications, and commercial real estate. He holds a Master’s in Engineering Management (Cum Laude) from the University of Pretoria and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Chemical Engineering from the same institution. Koos is currently the Managing Director of EAMS Africa, where he focuses on providing and implementing technology-enabled asset and maintenance solutions, including computerized maintenance management systems, online condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance. Throughout his career, Koos has advised some of the world’s largest companies, such as BP, Shell, ExxonMobil, Telkom SA, and AT&T.

  HANS NOLTE  

PRESENTER

Hans has over 30 years of experience in the mining and metallurgical industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Stellenbosch University and attended an Executive Development Program at Wharton University of Pennsylvania. Hans has a distinguished career in Southern Africa, particularly in Namibia, with extensive expertise in managing and optimizing smelting operations and introducing advanced technologies.

 

He has held various senior positions, including Plant Manager and Metallurgical Manager, and has overseen significant upgrades and improvements in smelting technologies, emission controls, and environmental management. Hans has also consulted on smelting processes and feasibility studies in Zambia and Namibia.

  BENEDICT MOGIBA

Benedict has been working in the mining and metallurgical industry for the past decade. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. Benedict’s career began in the metallurgical laboratories of SGS, gaining expertise in metallurgical test work in comminution and hydrometallurgical processes. He then transitioned into the mineral processing equipment supply sector as a process engineer, with exposure to a wide range of equipment including ore crushers, classification screens, grinding mills, thickeners, cyclones, pumps, mixers, and agitators, concentrators, and float cells. 

 

Currently, Benedict is a Senior Process Engineer at LogiProc, focusing on the complete detailed design and commissioning of mineral processing plants. He has been involved in several Brownfield revitalization and optimization projects. His process design expertise includes crushing and milling circuits, flotation circuits, DMS circuits, CIL and heap leach operations, elution and carbon regeneration circuits, and dewatering and filtration operations across Africa and globally.

  DAWIE LE ROUX  

Dawie is a professionally certified Civil and Structural Engineer with extensive experience in both the commercial and mining industries. His expertise lies in the SMPP and C portions of plant designs and construction activities, as well as engineering and design systems and procedures. As Engineering Manager for LogiProc (Pty) Ltd, Dawie works closely with the technical team and oversees all engineering and design aspects in the design office. 

With over 20 years of industry experience, he has been involved in various aspects of the project lifecycle, including studies, detail designs, project execution, construction, and management. Dawie has played a pivotal role in developing and growing LogiProc’s design capabilities and continues to excel in this role.

  DENNIS BRAZIER  

Dennis is a seasoned pyrometallurgist with over 30 years of experience, currently the Managing Director at Refractory and Metallurgical Solution (Pty) Ltd (RMS) and a Technical Consultant to REFLECT (Pty) Ltd. He holds a higher diploma in Metallurgical Engineering from Vaal University of Technology and advanced management qualifications from the University of South Africa and Duke University in the United States. 

 

Dennis has a proven track record of driving operational excellence and technological advancements in the metallurgical industry, having overseen significant improvements in smelter and refinery production and efficiencies during his tenure at various companies.

  JOHANN WANNENBURG  

Johann, CEO of Engonomics and an Associate Professor at the University of Pretoria, holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. He possesses extensive experience in structural mechanics, asset management, and engineering education across various industries, including mining, aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing. 

 

Throughout his career, Johann has led significant engineering projects and developed comprehensive asset management frameworks. At Engonomics, he specializes in utilizing advanced data analytics and technological solutions to optimize business processes and decision-making in complex industrial environments. His leadership has fostered innovations that enhance productivity and operational efficiency in challenging sectors.
